The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night.

Professional Background:
Emergency Medical Technician.
Family and Personal Background:
Born and raised in Davis, CA, I went on to attend high school and university here. In 2004 I graduated from UC Davis with degrees in Spanish and Italian. My wife Sara and I just bought a house in Davis, and we're busy making it into our home. We go to a great church here in town, Grace Valley Christian Center; the members of our RAAM team are all in this church.
Athletic Background:
Ran cross-country and track through high school, then went on to marathons and ultramarathons during college and afterward. Recently my focus has shifted to bicycle racing, with a certain affinity for cyclo-cross.
Why are you involved in Team Donate Life?
My original connection with the team is through Dr. Richard Perez, who is a long-time family friend. Then, last year, my dad rode the RAAM with an 8-man Team Donate Life. Just recently a friend of mine donated a kidney to another friend; this really showed me up close and personal the importance of organ donation.
