Family and Personal Background:
|
|
My wonderful wife Denise and I have been married for 15 years and have four children: Aleka (8), Kendrick (6), Mikaylie (4)
and Derrick (2). Denise and I met while students at the University of California at Davis. We currently live in Austin, TX
and have a Co-Motion triplet and a bike trailer that allows all six of us to ride together and combine exercise and family
time together. We keep busy with riding, home schooling our four children, church activities and work.

Athletic Background:
|
|
I have always enjoyed sports of all kinds. I grew up in Truckee, CA, which is a small mountain town in the Sierra Mountains
near Lake Tahoe, CA. There, I had a chance to participate in a variety of competitive sports. After high school, I attended
the College of Siskiyous and ran track and played football. I then transferred to UC Davis and played two more years of
football. Through athletics, I have been blessed to meet incredible people who have greatly influenced who I am today.
Currently, I love nothing more than to be on our tandem with my wife Denise. We enjoy long Saturday rides, an occasional
double century and competing in various cycling events.

Why are you involved in Team Donate Life?
|
|
I whole-heartedly support the vision of Team Donate Life, which is to bring awareness of the need for organ donation while
raising funds toward continued transplant research. Also, the opportunity to participate in RAAM with a group of great friends
is an opportunity of a lifetime!
