"Teamwork is the magic that turns dreams into reality and obstacles into success"
One third of the people waiting for an organ transplant will die before a donor can be found.
Please consider supporting me in my efforts to raise awareness and increase the donor pool.

Professional Background:

Academic Manager in the Department of Radiology at UC Davis Medical Center.

Family and Personal Background:
|
|
I was born and raised in Rhode Island, where most of my family still lives.
I moved to California in 1985 to attend the University of San Francisco and after earning a MBA in finance, I worked and
lived in the bay area until 1993. The lure of cheaper housing and a better job as well as a quieter life style, less
traffic congestion, and an abundance of open space lured me to the "valley".
I now live on Laguna Lake in Elk Grove with my son, Jake (16) and fiancée, Chris.

Athletic Background:
|
|
As my son, Jake, grew older and needed me less, I found myself spending more time working out with friends: swimming,
cycling, and running. Naturally, I was drawn to competitive sports, first running 5 & 10Ks then competing in triathlons.
|
|
I am a USAT ranked age group triathlete, 2005 & 2006. I feel the most challenging event I ever participated in was the
Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon in 2006, particularly the 1.5 mile swim from the island to the shore. I was 5 months
post-op from ankle surgery and not feeling very confident in my abilities. My motto that year was, "complete rather than
compete". Finishing the triathlon that day in May, made me feel I could accomplish anything as long as I put my mind to it.

Why are you involved in Team Donate Life?
|
|
When I decided to enter the Race Across America (RAAM) in 2007, a former team mate from the 2006 race and I decided to
recruit an all women’s team. At the time, we did not realize it had never been done before! Training along side these
7 amazing women, aged 34 to 65, has been, both, inspiring and overwhelming. However, I always remember that I can ride
a bike and spread the message of Organ donation while so many others anxiously awaits their life saving gift. For all
of those individuals, I am using my passion for cycling to further the cause of Organ Donation Awareness!
