Go Team Give Hope!! You are all doing great. Think cool water because you are almost there. Your blue dot is on the downhill side of the US map. What a great accomplishment and experience you will be able to tell us about. Can't wait to hear all the details. I know you are all tired, but try to enjoy the journey.

Give Hope - Update from Effingham, IL

It’s 2:50 AM. We’re riding in the RV as fast as we can to Greensburg, IN, where we will transition again with the second half of our team around 11 AM. We’ve decided that 12-14 hr shifts are just much, and it will take only about 9 hrs for them to get through the next 3 time stations.
Our team did awesome today through Missouri. We realized that we needed to maintain a 21.46 average for the remaining time stations in order to break 6 days, and we are going to be SO close! I think we can do this!
As for me… I’m exhausted. The lactic acid is burning like crazy now, showing that I have overworked these muscles. In fact, I can hardly write these words. Our team was awesome today! I think my highlight was when Jared and I both went out together for about 20 miles, switching the lead and drafting every mile as Kristen called out the miles over our radios. We rode as hard as we were able, and we kept a great pace of 25 mph +.
No matter how hard we tried this year, we cannot tame the monster named “Sleep Deprivation.” He is quickly taking each one of us… rider and crew. But crew is getting wiped out.
Tomorrow will be our hardest day, no doubt… for everyone.
