I couldn't agree with you more! Very well said Thompson. I've had difficulty explaining to friends and family just how powerful the experience of RAAM was. It has changed me and re-fired my resolve to be the best person I can be. Thanks for sharing the journey. You're the man!

This Amazing Country

As we celebrate the inception of the United States of America, I have gained renewed appreciation for this country we all call home, having peddled a few miles this team laid down on our trancontinental journey. Today in church we all stood and sang "The Star Spangled Banner". I honestly couldn't sing until the last verse, as memories of each small town and metropolis we cycled through flooded my mind. Those towns and the people comprising them are inextricably woven and bound into the greatest nation on earth and the history of man. It's a country worth giving our heart and soul for, a country worth living for, and under attack, worth dieing for, that our children will know the same opportunities we have had. So many life lessons have settled on me through this RAAM experience--lessons of trust, communication, teamwork, commonality for a cause, and on and on. To have had those lessons taught as we crossed this sacred land is all the more meaningful. And sharing it with each of you has furthered my resolve to be a better man. Thank you.
